Mikóházi Ízőrzők Egyesülete
3989 Mikóháza, Petőfi Sándor Street 7.

Our association has been founded with the purpose of preserving the traditions of the inhabitants of Mikóháza in a way of activities, culture, and cuisine. The Interactive Traditional House of Mikóháza presents the everyday life and tools of the village. In order to maintain the traditions our members keep the local tastes when preparing jams, bottled fruits, pickles and syrups, which truly remind us to the flavor of the past. When the spring begins we start processing the continuously ripening fruits and vegetables which can be bought in the Traditional House. In case of bookings made by larger groups we can prepare local special dishes like breads, pies etc. in the authentic furnace. Our cellar can host 35 people, provides the venue for pálinka (fruit brandy of Hungary) and wine tasting. For the drinks local sorts of cheese and plates of rural food can be served. Our visitors have to book in advance for this experience, the programs can amuse you all day long, even more days you can spend if you fancy to explore the beautiful hiking trails around.
