Association of Tastekeepers of Mikóháza
Our association has been founded with the purpose of preserving the traditions of the inhabitants of Mikóháza in village activities, culture, and cuisine. The Interactive Traditional House of Mikóháza operated by the association presents the everyday life and tools of the village. In order to maintain the traditions, the members of the association keep to the local tastes when preparing jams, bottled fruits, pickles and syrups. When the spring begins they start processing the continuously ripening fruits and vegetables and selling their products, which the dear guests can buy in the Traditional House. In case of bookings made by larger groups the local dishes are prepared in the oven that can be seen and used in the Traditional House. The cellar, which can receive 35 people, provides the venue for pálinka (fruit brandy of Hungary) and wine tasting, which our visitors also have to book in advance. For the drinks local sorts of cheese and plates of rural food can be served.
